πŸ“ Title: I Am Trusting Thee, Lord Jesus

✍🏻 Composer: Frances Ridley Havergal

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 521

Stanza 1

I AM trusting Thee, Lord Jesus,

Trusting only Thee;

Trusting Thee for full salvation,

Great and free.

Stanza 2

I am trusting Thee for pardon,

At Thy feet I bow;

For Thy grace and tender mercy,

Trusting now.

Stanza 3

I am trusting Thee for cleansing

In the crimson flood;

Trusting Thee to make me holy

By Thy blood.

Stanza 4

I am trusting Thee to guide me;

Thou alone shalt lead,

Every day and hour supplying

All my need.

Stanza 5

I am trusting Thee for power,

Thine can never fail;

Words which Thou Thyself shalt give me

Must prevail.

Stanza 6

I am trusting Thee, Lord Jesus;

Never let me fall;

I am trusting Thee for ever,

And for all.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

In whom do you place your trust? How trustworthy is He (or she)? Where is He when storms overwhelm you? I recommend to you a friend who never fails. Put your trust in Jesus, the Christ, for He never fails. Put not your trust in any man. Trust only Him! Trust Him today; trust Him forever. Amen! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: Yes, God Is Good

✍🏻 Composer: John Hampden Gurney

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 968

Stanza 1

YES, God is good--in earth and sky,

From ocean depths and spreading wood,

Ten thousand voices seem to cry:

God made us all, and God is good.

Stanza 2

The sun that keeps his trackless way,

And downward pours his golden flood,

Night’s sparkling hosts, all seem to say

In accents clear, that God is good.

Stanza 3

The merry birds prolong the strain,

Their song with every spring renewed;

And balmy air, and falling rain,

Each softly whispers: God is good.

Stanza 4

I hear it in the rushing breeze;

The hills that have for ages stood,

The echoing sky and roaring seas,

All swell the chorus: God is good.

Stanza 5

Yes, God is good, all nature says,

By God’s own hand with speech endued;

And man, in louder notes of praise,

Should sing for joy that God is good.

Stanza 6

For all Thy gifts we bless Thee, Lord,

But chiefly for our heavenly food;

Thy pardoning grace, Thy quickening word,

These prompt our song, that God is good.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

God is good no matter what! Goodness resides in Him, for He cannot and will not be otherwise. You may be looking at your present pain, storms and discomfort in life, but remember, that if you are truly loved and called by God, then all things will work together for your good. For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose. In the final analysis, you will see that everything around you will prompt your song that God is good. Amen! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: How Sweet The Name Of Jesus Sounds

✍🏻 Composer: John Newton

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 99

Stanza 1

HOW sweet the name of Jesus sounds

In a believer’s ear!

It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds,

And drives away his fear.

Stanza 2

It makes the wounded spirit whole,

And calms the troubled breast;

’Tis manna to the hungry soul,

And to the weary rest.

Stanza 3

Dear name! the Rock on which I build,

My shield, and hiding-place,

My never-failing treasury, filled

With boundless stores of grace!

Stanza 4

Jesus, my Shepherd, Brother, Friend,

My Prophet, Priest, and King,

My Lord, my Life, my Way, my End,

Accept the praise I bring.

Stanza 5

Weak is the effort of my heart,

And cold my warmest thought;

But when I see Thee as Thou art

I’ll praise Thee as I ought.

Stanza 6

Till then I would Thy love proclaim

With every fleeting breath;

And may the music of Thy name

Refresh my soul in death. Amen.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

The name of Jesus is  over and above all other names in heaven and on earth. It exerts power for all times and imparts the believer as well as the sinner. To the believer, the name sounds sweet, soothes his sorrows and heals his wounds even to the point of driving away his fears. The sinner hears this name and feels its weight and demands on his/her soul. Until they repent and submit to God, their souls are not free. You know where you stand among these two. Reflect and pray!

πŸ“ Title: Pleasant Are Thy Courts Above

✍🏻 Composer: Henry Francis Lyte

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 679

Stanza 1

PLEASANT are Thy courts above,

In the land of light and love;

Pleasant are Thy courts below,

In this land of sin and woe.

O my spirit longs and faints

For the converse of Thy saints,

For the brightness of Thy face,

For Thy fullness, God of grace!

Stanza 2

Happy birds that sing and fly

Round Thy altars, O Most High!

Happier souls that find a rest

In a heavenly Father’s breast!

Like the wandering dove that found

No repose on earth around,

They can to their ark repair,

And enjoy it ever there.

Stanza 3

Happy souls! Their praises flow

In this vale of sin and woe;

Waters in the desert rise,

Manna feeds them from the skies.

On they go from strength to strength,

Till they reach Thy throne at length;

At Thy feet adoring fall,

Who hast led them safe through all.

Stanza 4

Lord, be mine this prize to win:

Guide me through a world of sin;

Keep me by Thy saving grace;

Give me at Thy side a place.

Sun and shield alike Thou art;

Guide and guard my erring heart:

Grace and glory flow from Thee;

Shower, O shower them, Lord, on me! Amen.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

Our God has courts above - in heaven, and courts below - on earth, which is His church: the communion of the saints, and each of them is pleasant. Question is: Do your long to be in the court of the Lord - in His presence; Or in the assembly of His saints where He is present? Grace and glory never cease to flow from God to those who long for His presence. To such also, God guides and guards. The choice is yours now to make! Reflect and pray!

πŸ“ Title: All Things Praise Thee, Lord Most High

✍🏻 Composer: George William Conder

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 29

Stanza 1

ALL things praise Thee, Lord most high;

Heaven and earth and sea and sky,

All were for Thy glory made,

That Thy greatness thus displayed

Should all worship bring to Thee;

All things praise Thee: Lord, may we.

Stanza 2

All things praise Thee; night to night

Sings in silent hymns of light;

All things praise Thee; day to day

Chants Thy power, in burning ray;

Time and space are praising Thee,

All things praise Thee: Lord, may we.

Stanza 3

All things praise Thee; round her zones

Earth, with her ten thousand tones,

Rolls a ceaseless choral strain;

Roaring wind and deep-voiced main,

Rustling leaf and humming bee,

All things praise Thee: Lord, may we.

Stanza 4

All things praise Thee; high and low,

Rain and dew and seven-hued bow,

Crimson sunset, fleecy cloud,

Rippling stream and tempest loud;

Summer, winter, all to Thee

Glory render: Lord, may we.

Stanza 5

All things praise Thee; gracious Lord,

Great Creator, powerful Word,

Omnipresent Spirit, now

At Thy feet we humbly bow,

Lift our hearts in praise to Thee;

All things praise Thee: Lord, may we. Amen.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

There is one God - the Father from whom all things came, and for whom we live. And one Lord, Jesus Christ through whom all things came, and through whom we all live. All these things were given to us both for our good and use. If all these things praise God, why not us? We have every cause to praise God in all things and for all things. So go ahead, let heaven hear your voice of praise! Start now! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: There Is A Fountain Filled With Blood

✍🏻 Composer: William Cowper

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 201

Stanza 1

THERE is a fountain filled with blood

Drawn from Immanuel’s veins;

And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,

Lose all their guilty stains.

Stanza 2

The dying thief rejoiced to see

That fountain in his day;

And there may I, though vile as he,

Wash all my sins away.

Stanza 3

O dying Lamb, Thy precious blood

Shall never lose its power,

Till all the ransomed church of God

Be saved to sin no more.

Stanza 4

E’er since, by faith, I saw the stream

Thy flowing wounds supply,

Redeeming love has been my theme

And shall be till I die.

Stanza 5

Then in a nobler, sweeter song

I’ll sing Thy power to save,

When this poor lisping, stammering tongue

Lies silent in the grave.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

Even though Jesus was crucified more than 2000 years ago, His blood is as effective to save anyone today as it did then. Those who submit to its flow are loosed from their guilty stains. So come all who are weary and heavy burdened, Jesus will give you rest and with His blood, cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Come one, come all! Jesus is mighty to save! The time to act is now! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: I Am Thine, O Lord

✍🏻 Composer: Frances Jane van Alstyne

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 746

Stanza 1

I AM Thine, O Lord; I have heard Thy voice,

And it told Thy love to me;

But I long to rise in the arms of faith,

And be closer drawn to Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer, blessèd Lord,

To the Cross where Thou hast died:

Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessΓ¨d Lord,

To Thy precious, bleeding side.

Stanza 2

Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,

By the power of grace divine;

Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,

And my will be lost in Thine.

Draw me nearer, nearer, blessèd Lord,

To the Cross where Thou hast died:

Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessΓ¨d Lord,

To Thy precious, bleeding side.

Stanza 3

O the pure delight of a single hour

That before Thy throne I spend,

When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,

I commune as friend with friend.

Draw me nearer, nearer, blessèd Lord,

To the Cross where Thou hast died:

Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessΓ¨d Lord,

To Thy precious, bleeding side.

Stanza 4

There are depths of love that I cannot know

Till I cross the narrow sea;

There are heights of joy that I may not reach

Till I rest in peace with Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer, blessèd Lord,

To the Cross where Thou hast died:

Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessΓ¨d Lord,

To Thy precious, bleeding side.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

Whose are you? Whose voice are you listening to? In whose service have you engaged yourself? If your answer to any of these questions isn't God or the Lord Jesus, then you've got to reconsider your ways and life. No matter how far you have deviated and gone your own way, Jesus still cares for you and He is waiting right here patiently for you. Come to Him now! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: Come Down, O Love Divine

✍🏻 Composer: Bianco da Siena and tr. by Richard Frederick Littledale

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 273

Stanza 1

COME down, O Love Divine,

Seek Thou this soul of mine,

And visit it with Thine own ardour glowing;

O Comforter, draw near,

Within my heart appear,

And kindle it, Thy holy flame bestowing.

Stanza 2

O let it freely burn,

Till earthly passions turn

To dust and ashes, in its heat consuming;

And let Thy glorious light

Shine ever on my sight,

And clothe me round, the while my path illuming.

Stanza 3

Let holy charity

Mine outward vesture be,

And lowliness become mine inner clothing;

True lowliness of heart,

Which takes the humbler part,

And o’er its own shortcomings weeps with loathing.

Stanza 4

And so the yearning strong,

With which the soul will long,

Shall far outpass the power of human telling;

For none can guess its grace,

Till he become the place

Wherein the Holy Spirit makes His dwelling.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

The Lord wants the best of us. And when we give that to Him, He, through the Holy Spirit makes His dwelling within and among us. Have you given all of your nature to God? Is your heart a place the Holy Spirit dwells? Let nothing hinder you from giving all of yourself to the Lord! You may do so now if you have not. And you will surely come to testify that indeed, the Lord is good. Receive the Spirit of God now! Amen! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: Through All The Changing Scenes Of Life

✍🏻 Composer: Nahum Tate and Nicholas Brady

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 427

Stanza 1

THROUGH all the changing scenes of life,

In trouble and in joy,

The praises of my God shall still

My heart and tongue employ.

Stanza 2

Of His deliverance I will boast,

Till all that are distressed

From my example comfort take,

And charm their griefs to rest.

Stanza 3

O magnify the Lord with me,

With me exalt His name;

When in distress to Him I called,

He to my rescue came.

Stanza 4

The hosts of God encamp around

The dwellings of the just;

Deliverance He affords to all

Who on His succour trust.

Stanza 5

O make but trial of His love;

Experience will decide

How blest they are, and only they,

Who in His truth confide.

Stanza 6

Fear Him, ye saints, and you will then

Have nothing else to fear;

Make you His service your delight,

He’ll make your wants His care.

πŸ’‘HYMN REFLECTIONS:

The scenes of life will never stay the same always. Yet, the Lord remains unchanging. Whatever the scenes showing up in your life, do not forget that the Lord still cares; is with you and so share in your pain and grief or joy. And it is He who will see you through them all. So be of good cheer and rejoice in Him always no matter the situation. Amen! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: For The Beauty Of The Earth

✍🏻 Composer: Folliott Sandford Pierpoint

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 35

Stanza 1

FOR the beauty of the earth,

For the beauty of the skies,

For the love which from our birth

Over and around us lies,

Gracious God, to Thee we raise

This our sacrifice of praise.

Stanza 2

For the beauty of each hour

Of the day and of the night,

Hill and vale, and tree and flower,

Sun and moon and stars of light:

Gracious God, to Thee we raise

This our sacrifice of praise.

Stanza 3

For the joy of ear and eye,

For the heart and mind’s delight,

For the mystic harmony

Linking sense to sound and sight:

Gracious God, to Thee we raise

This our sacrifice of praise.

Stanza 4

For the joy of human love,

Brother, sister, parent, child,

Friends on earth and friends above,

For all gentle thoughts and mild:

Gracious God, to Thee we raise

This our sacrifice of praise.

Stanza 5

For each perfect gift of Thine

To our race so freely given,

Graces human and divine,

Flowers of earth and buds of heaven.

Gracious God, to Thee we raise

This our sacrifice of praise.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

Everything has its beauty. The earth, sky, birth, love, seasons and times, all have beauty, and it is the Lord who made them all and in that manner. They are to be received with joy and enjoyed with love and care. None is to be taken for granted, for it is God who after He had provided all these things for our lives, continues to give us grace to partake in them. Again I say to you, take none of these things for granted! Let not the grace of God be in vain. Give out your all and your best in the worship, service and praises of this gracious God in heaven. Amen! Pray!

SING we the King who is coming to reign,

Glory to Jesus, the Lamb that was slain,

Life and salvation His empire shall bring,

Joy to the nations when Jesus is King.

Come let us sing: Praise to our King,

Jesus our King, Jesus our King:

This is our song, who to Jesus belong:

Glory to Jesus, to Jesus our King.

Stanza 2

All men shall dwell in His marvellous light,

Races long severed His love shall unite,

Justice and truth from His sceptre shall spring,

Wrong shall be ended when Jesus is King.

Come let us sing: Praise to our King,

Jesus our King, Jesus our King:

This is our song, who to Jesus belong:

Glory to Jesus, to Jesus our King.

Stanza 3

All shall be well in His kingdom of peace,

Freedom shall flourish and wisdom increase,

Foe shall be friend when His triumph we sing,

Sword shall be sickle when Jesus is King.

Come let us sing: Praise to our King,

Jesus our King, Jesus our King:

This is our song, who to Jesus belong:

Glory to Jesus, to Jesus our King.

Stanza 4

Souls shall be saved from the burden of sin,

Doubt shall not darken His witness within,

Hell hath no terrors, and death hath no sting;

Love is victorious when Jesus is King.

Come let us sing: Praise to our King,

Jesus our King, Jesus our King:

This is our song, who to Jesus belong:

Glory to Jesus, to Jesus our King.

Stanza 5

Kingdom of Christ, for thy coming we pray,

Hasten, O Father, the dawn of the day

When this new song Thy creation shall sing,

Satan is vanquished and Jesus is King.

Come let us sing: Praise to our King,

Jesus our King, Jesus our King:

This is our song, who to Jesus belong:

Glory to Jesus, to Jesus our King.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

When shall truth and justice reign on earth? When shall all hatred cease, and all wrongs end? When shall souls be saved from the burden of sin? All these and several others shall be when Jesus is King. See, He is coming in His glory to reign and rule. It will be joy to nations, life and salvation to God's people. Let those who have this hope join in this hymn and in His everlasting praise. And sing we the King who is coming to reign! Amen! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: Once In Royal David's City

✍🏻 Composer: Cecil Frances Alexander

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 859

Stanza 1

ONCE in royal David’s city

Stood a lowly cattle-shed,

Where a mother laid her baby

In a manger for His bed.

Mary was that mother mild,

Jesus Christ her little child.

Stanza 2

He came down to earth from heaven

Who is God and Lord of all,

And His shelter was a stable,

And His cradle was a stall;

With the poor, and mean, and lowly

Lived on earth our Saviour holy.

Stanza 3

And through all His wondrous childhood

He would honour and obey,

Love, and watch the lowly maiden

In whose gentle arms He lay.

Christian children all must be

Mild, obedient, good as He.

Stanza 4

For He is our childhood’s pattern:

Day by day like us He grew;

He was little, weak and helpless;

Tears and smiles like us He knew;

And He feeleth for our sadness,

And He shareth in our gladness.

Stanza 5

And our eyes at last shall see Him,

Through His own redeeming love;

For that child so dear and gentle

Is our Lord in heaven above;

And He leads His children on

To the place where He is gone.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

Jesus Christ was born by Mary, and like us, day by day He grew. As a child, He was mild, obedient and good. As God's children, we ought to emulate Jesus Christ, not forgetting that: He was little, weak, and helpless. And He knew tears and smiles. This same Jesus is our Lord in heaven. And He leads His children to the place where He is gone. Follow His steps today! Amen. Pray!

πŸ“ Title: The First Nowell The Angel Did Say

✍🏻 Composer: Anonymous

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 131

Stanza 1

THE first Nowell the angel did say

Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay:

In fields where they lay a-keeping their sheep

On a cold winter’s night that was so deep.

Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell,

Born is the King of Israel.

Stanza 2

They lookΓ©d up and saw a star,

Shining in the east, beyond them far,

And to the earth it gave great light,

And so it continued both day and night.

Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell,

Born is the King of Israel.

Stanza 3

And by the light of that same star,

Three wise men came from country far;

To seek for a King was their intent,

And to follow the star wherever it went.

Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell,

Born is the King of Israel.

Stanza 4

This star drew nigh to the north-west,

O’er Bethlehem it took its rest,

And there it did both stop and stay

Right over the place where Jesus lay.

Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell,

Born is the King of Israel.

Stanza 5

Then entered in those wise men three,

Full reverently upon their knee,

And offered there in His presence

Their gold and myrrh and frankin-cense.

Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell,

Born is the King of Israel.

Stanza 6

Then let us all with one accord

Sing praises to our Heavenly Lord,

That hath made heaven and earth of nought,

And with His blood mankind hath bought.

Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell,

Born is the King of Israel.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

It was unto "poor shepherds", not the rich or royals that the birth of Jesus was first announced. Notice also that this announcement was not done by any human or human device but by angels or divine device. What a favour! What a blessing! What a decisive action of God to choose the poor and not the rich; the shepherds and not the aristocrats; the simple and not learned by worldly standards! This Christmas, may the Lord look upon you and yours with His favour. Amen! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: Silent Night, Holy Night

✍🏻 Composer: Joseph Mohr, Franz Gruber & Mark Hanson

Stanza 1

Silent night, Holy night

All is calm, all is bright

Round yon virgin, mother and child

Holy infant, tender and mild

Sleep in heavenly peace,

Sleep in heavenly peace.

Stanza 2

Silent night, Holy night

Son of God, love's pure light

Radiant beams from thy holy face

With the dawn of redeeming grace,

Jesus, Lord at thy birth

Jesus, Lord at thy birth.

Stanza 3

Silent night, Holy night

Shepherds quake, at the sight

Glories stream from heaven above

Heavenly, hosts sing Hallelujah.

Christ the Saviour is born,

Christ the Saviour is born.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

Yes, it was a silent, yet holy night when Jesus was born. It was a day a fulfillment, yet the beginning of better things to come. He humbly appeared on the earthly scene in the form of a baby, yet inside Him was the King and the Kingdom; the Spirit of the LORD and God's Mighty Power. Don't just celebrate Christmas without celebrating the Christ - that amounts to nothing. God takes no pleasure in that. But if only you can connect with Christ and celebrate Him as such, even if you miss this Christmas, you have really not missed anything. Remember, the season is all about Christ. Amen! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah

✍🏻 Composer: William Williams; tr. by Peter Williams

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 615

Stanza 1

GUIDE me, O Thou great Jehovah,

Pilgrim through this barren land;

I am weak, but Thou art mighty;

Hold me with Thy powerful hand:

Bread of heaven!

Feed me now and evermore.

Stanza 2

Open Thou the crystal fountain,

Whence the healing stream shall flow;

Let the fiery, cloudy pillar

Lead me all my journey through:

Strong Deliverer!

Be Thou still my help and shield.

Stanza 3

When I tread the verge of Jordan,

Bid my anxious fears subside;

Death of deaths, and hell’s destruction,

Land me safe on Canaan's side:

Songs of praises

I will ever give to Thee.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

This hymn enjoin us to surrender and submit all our ways to the Lord. The first obvious reason being that, we are weak but He is mighty. No matter your position in society or the church, you are by God's standards too weak to make life possible. Let us open up our hearts to the Lord and submit our will and ways to Him. Only God can really guide us in our journey on earth. May He guide us as we elect leaders for our nation this day. Amen! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: Angels From The Realms Of Glory

✍🏻 Composer: James Montgomery

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 119

Stanza 1

ANGELS from the realms of glory,

Wing your flight o’er all the earth;

Ye, who sang creation’s story,

Now proclaim Messiah’s birth;

Come and worship,

Worship Christ, the new-born King.

Stanza 2

Shepherds in the field abiding,

Watching o’er your flocks by night,

God with man is now residing,

Yonder shines the infant light;

Come and worship,

Worship Christ, the new-born King.

Stanza 3

Sages, leave your contemplations;

Brighter visions beam afar;

Seek the great Desire of nations;

Ye have seen His natal star;

Come and worship,

Worship Christ, the new-born King.

Stanza 4

Saints, before the altar bending,

Watching long with hope and fear,

Suddenly the Lord, descending,

In His temple shall appear;

Come and worship,

Worship Christ, the new-born King.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

The invitation is still ongoing and clear: That God has appeared in the flesh - in the person of Jesus Christ and is reconciling all humans unto Himself. So come; come to Jesus! Come and worship our new born king, who is the Christ and Lord of all. Amen! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: Long Time Ago In Bethlehem

Stanza 1

Long time ago in Bethlehem

So the Holy Bible say

Mary's boy child, Jesus Christ

Was born on Christmas Day.

Hark now hear the angels sing

A king was born today

And man will live for evermore

Because of Christmas Day.

Stanza 2

While shepherds watched their flock by night,

They see a bright new shining star

They hear a choir of angels sing

The music seemed to come from afar.

Hark, now hear the angels sing,

A king was born today

And man will live forevermore

Because of Christmas Day.

Stanza 3

Joseph and his wife, Mary,

Came to Bethlehem that night,

They found no place to bear her child,

Not a single room was in sight.

Hark now hear the angels sing,

A king was born today

And man will live forevermore

Because of Christmas Day

Stanza 4

By and by they find a little nook

In a stable all forlorn,

And in a manger cold and dark,

Mary's little boy was born.

Hark now hear the angels sing,

A king was born today

And man will live forevermore

Because of Christmas Day.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

It was in Bethlehem that Jesus was born, long long time ago. History has it that, He was born and placed in a manger. This was not because God lacked or could not reserve or find a room for His own Son to be born there. God made a choice, and He has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the strong and proud. So has He chosen to give life to humanity through Christ Jesus. It may not sound impressive to manage, but that is God's choice and approved means. If only anyone would believe, they will live forevermore. Amen! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: Good Christian Men, Rejoice

✍🏻 Composer: John Mason Neale

METHODIST HYMN BOOK (MHB) 143

Stanza 1

GOOD Christian men, rejoice

With heart and soul and voice!

Give ye heed to what we say: News! News!

Jesus Christ is born to-day.

Ox and ass before Him bow,

And He is in the manger now:

Christ is born to-day.

Stanza 2

Good Christian men, rejoice

With heart and soul and voice!

Now ye hear of endless bliss:

Joy! Joy!

Jesus Christ was born for this.

He hath oped the heavenly door,

And man is blest for evermore.

Christ was born for this.

Stanza 3

Good Christian men, rejoice

With heart and soul and voice!

Now ye need not fear the grave:

Peace! Peace!

Jesus Christ was born to save;

Calls you one, and calls you all,

To gain His everlasting hall.

Christ was born to save.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

Dear one in Christ, fear not the grace, for Jesus was born to save. Have the peace of God! Hear then the endless bliss: Joy, Joy. Christ was born for this. Christ was born for your sake. Let not His birth be a waste. Simply believe: trust and obey Him. Amen! Pray!

πŸ“ Title: O Holy Night!

✍🏻 Composer: Adam Adolphe

Stanza 1

O holy night! The stars are brightly shining

It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth

Long lay the world in sin and error pining

Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth

A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices

For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.

Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices

O night divine

O night when Christ was born.

Stanza 2

Truly He taught us to love one another

His law is love and His gospel is peace

Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother

And in His name, all oppression shall cease

Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we

Let all within us praise His holy name.

Christ is the Lord! O praise His Name forever

His power and glory evermore proclaim

O night divine, O night when Christ was born.

Fall on your knees! O hear the angel voices

O night divine

O night when Christ was born

O night divine, O night when Christ was born.

Christ is the Lord! O praise His Name forever

His power and glory evermore proclaim

O night divine, O night when Christ was born.

πŸ’‘ HYMN REFLECTIONS:

The whole world lay in sin. Unless a person believes in Christ Jesus, he/she is still under the reign of sin. Unless you believe in Christ Jesus, you are still under Satan's domain. Why not join us fall on our knees before the King of Ages? Start now! Pray!
